Most of the other groups I visit are music-related, and they all seem to be suffering a decline both in quantity and quality, with the more esteemed posters leaving and the spam increasing. Maybe it's the competition from the blogosphere--usenet is becoming a neglected backwater. I've heard that some of the ISPs are removing nntp service from their subscribers. In any case, I share your pain. Steve -- Mark & Steven Bornfeld DDS http://www.dentaltwins.com Brooklyn, NY 718-258-5001

Google = spam! I really think that Google wants to kill the Usenet for good. > Maybe it's the competition from the blogosphere--usenet is becoming a > neglected backwater. I have been earnestly predicting the death of Usenet for a long time. Like our old cat, the Usenet is still alive, but is showing its age. Shamefully, most regular users of the Usenet don't even know it exists! (think about it) I've heard that some of the ISPs are removing nntp > service from their subscribers. Yep, starting with AOL. (of course, that was not entirely a bad thing) Usenet access can be free and easy. Unless you want to make over 25 posts a day, all you need to know is nntp.aioe.org. Vaughn
