I lived in Saskatchewan many years ago. Winter usually settled in to
stay about the end of October. I do recall people starting to get
restless by the end of November - cabin fever some people called it.

But let's face it, when it is cold and dark and nasty outside, it
presents a prime opportunity for cuddling (et al!) ;)

I guess a lot of people just can't be bothered rushing out to the drug
store for a box of condoms when it is 30 below and there is a foot (or
more) of snow on the ground. lol.
