From: Lori on 2 Oct 2007 14:45 For me the most frustrating part of this whole 'ailment' is not knowing what really brought it on. Others say, "You do know what brought it on" but I honestly do not know and that is so very frustrating!! Another frustration right now is my computer is not booting up and I have been trying to fix it for 3 days with no luck so far. Hopefully today, I'll have a breakthrough and it will come back to life! Please say a prayer for my pc! :-) Hugs, Lori
From: Lori on 3 Oct 2007 11:52 Hello Thor, :-) It would turn on and go to the winXP PRO screen but after trying to boot up, it would come to a screeching halt at a blue screen that said "Unmountable_Boot_Volume. It was not recognizing any CD's so I wasn't able to use my XP PRO CD to repair it. But... I have GOOD NEWS! I fixed it!!!! I googled for hours and finally found what I needed to change the boot sequence in BIOS. Once I changed it to CD ROM first then I had no problem getting the XP PRO CD to load. I had a slight problem as it would not do a repair install so I ended up doing a clean install. I knew I would lose almost everything I had downloaded and saved since I have done a clean install before. It did save my inbox email, saved email and favorites. I was surprised I still had any favorites saved! lol I'm glad I can fix my computer myself as taking it to a tech was not an option. So I am once again a happy camper to have my computer back up and running! So why am I posting from my webtv? Cuz I am being lazy and just kicking back on my couch while watching the words I type show up on my Tv screen. lol I'll post from my computer later when I get back on it to check for mail, do some research and also to post in the few groups I belong to. Have a good day! :-) Hugs, Lori
