From: Mikey on 30 Jul 2008 16:26 My 16 year old daughter has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. She has gone through alot the past 5 months with doctor visits and, more recently, weekly injections of B12 shots all over her body. All these treatments have yielded some (minor) positive results, but to me, the biggest positives go to the Doctor by aquiring a new very long term patient. Has anyone had any relief with Colloidal Silver? Actual cases on the internet have so far been difficult to find. Thanks, Mike
From: Michael B on 5 Aug 2008 12:48 Start with finding another doctor, might want to start with http://www.co-cure.org/Good-Doc.htm Get her Vitamin D level determined, as well as her Thyroid Stimulating Hormone. Get the number, not just that it is "normal". For both those lab values. Need more details, just ask. Do you live in an area that gets snow in the wintertime? If so, put priority on getting the vitamin D level checked. Might also push on her sternum with the fleshy part of your thumb. It should not hurt. If it does, put even greater priority to getting the vitamin D level checked. Fibromyalgia is a neurological disorder. Drinking colloidal silver will not help it, and may turn the skin blue. The best thing you can have your daughter do is take her doctor- prescribed meds, do some aerobic exercise every day (helps you sleep more deeply, which makes the Fibro better), and make sure she gets enough sleep. From: Michael B on 14 Aug 2008 02:40 Might as well tell you this, you'll find out soon enough. Fibromyalgia is a condition, which when translated from Medicalesian to English, means "I don't know what the hell you have, so go away so I can deal with patients I can treat". One of the conditions that needs to be eliminated is Lyme Disease, especially if you are in an area where ticks are common. Problem is that the CDC doesn't agree with researchers on which bands are valid. In other words, she could have it and the results could be equivocal or negative, depending on which test she gets. And suppose she has the spirochettes. There is some evidence that colloidal silver can be effective. But it's damned difficult to get a good double blind study done. A bit of reading material to start with could be http://www.townsendletter.com/FebMar2006/lyme0206.htm and there is certainly plenty more. And as far as the silver goes, some comments about its potential toxicity at high rates, large particle size, etc. http://www.wishgranted.com/Colloidal_Silver_Pages_Toxicology.htm There is some work that has shown colloidal silver to be of value against AIDS too. http://the-moneychanger.com/articles_files/health/mild_silver_protein.phtml But anyway, just wanted to let you know that I don't consider the idea of colloidal silver(not the home-made one that immediately starts to recombine, making it no longer a colloid) to be an invalid notion, just one that needs more effort to justify. Fibromyalgia is a condition, which when translated from Medicalesian to English, means "I don't know what the hell you have, so go away so I can deal with patients I can treat". Same ole rhetoric my best friend in HS/College was told ........ for her Lupus! Other than, "stay out of the sun".... I remember how she was treated by the medical community in the beginning, much as we have with FMS. Until they took the time, grant money/research money, and concerted effort/energy to really research her medical condition....... and came up with Lupus. Just biding my time with FMS....... as she had to, for her Lupus! It's been over 20 years now, and still counting! :-( Take care and be well out there! Debra
