From: Markey on 13 May 2006 01:09 Hi, Has anyone experienced drooling from the medication they take? If so, what medicine do you know or think you know is causing the drooling? I think I am getting this side effect from either the Seroquel or Respirdal, that I am taking. Mark

And yes, some anti-psychotics can cause drooling (I have a friend who takes Geodon with this problem). Her doctor told her to take Benadryl (50mg) to stop the problem. Don't know if this would help everyone though - you really need to talk the doctor! The serious side effect you need to watch for is uncontrolled mouth movements - tongue constantly moving, biting/rolling lips around etc. This is a sign of Tardive Dyskinesia - you need to let the doctor know right away!!! From: Cybil Cyclone on 13 May 2006 08:13 Hi Mark, Now that you mention it, I drool too. I can be absorbed in something and I have had to wipe my mouth and during sleep but I didn't pay much attention to it til now. The other times I noticed I drooled especially in my sleep was when I was pregnant. I think it's better than having that dry mouth that is so annoying. I also take risperdal. ??? From: HappyPolarBear on 29 May 2006 06:17 Hi Mark, when I was on Seroquel I was drooling a lot, even so I was already on a low dosis. I guess I slept so deep that I didn't even realize it until in the morning when I found my pillow wet.
