Lantus 40 units every AM and PM
Novolog 15 units before Breakfast, Afternoon Snack, and Evening Snack
Novolong 30 units before dinner and 25 units before Lunch

Sometimes have to eat when not hungry just to keep from having low BG

Used to work out 4 days a week and swim twice a week. Really miss it.

Yes it is a new kind of pump.

Thanks how these additional answers help.

That seems like a lot! I am type 2 and don't take that much. Then again,
my numbers are still not totally in control. Is there a reason why you are
taking it twice daily?

That seems rather odd, but I don't know what you are eating. I think 22
units is the most I've ever taken, but I have a feeling you eat a lot more
carbs than I do.

I know that!

Okay...

Hmmm... Somehow I don't think that a letter from your Dr. would carry much
weight. But I could be wrong.

Okay.

Maybe another type 1 will have an answer for you. I really don't know what
to say.

Doctor's orders. Don't tell him you're on this News Group. He'll have a
kitten!

Nor are you required to tell him the truth about your diet or inulin usage!
It's your life, not his!

I believe Rich lives in Illinois, somewhere between Chicago and St. Louis
MO. Hard to believe BC/BS has only one endo in his area. Have you asked
your Plan Administrator at Homeland Security about this, Rich?

Woah, man - I hope you've used up all your bad-luck allowance, that
sounds like quite a ride!

I'm a T2, so I'm very wary of giving you advice - but what you've
reported of your endo's stance sounds odd. On a dietary front, eating
lots of protein for healing makes perfect sense; eating lots of carbs
does not, particularly if it's promoting weight gain you don't want.
Do you have the kind of relationship with your MD where you could
discuss this kind of thing sensibly?

Nicky.

A six month wait to see your endo? In the USA? With BC/BS? Pisses me off!
