I think I need a tooth pulled. Any ideas about which dentist, what to tell
the dentist, what to do about meds? My long-time dentist retired, and I
haven't looked for another one yet.

I'll also be asking my PCP and RD about this.

I haven't had any pulled recently, but have had a root canal and
a crown. I can't open near as far as I used to, so that makes it difficult,
But the regular dentist was able to get it done without too much problem.
A little soreness of my jaw and corners of my mouth, and he and the
assistant couldn't both get in there like usual.
If it way in the back - perhaps a endodontist or oral surgeon?

It's in the middle, on one side. I was wondering about precautions for
infection.

Ahh, I see. I have a slight mitrol valve leak - so some dentists want me
to take antibiotics before any major work. I think my family doc doesn't
think it's necessary. I don't think I took any the last time I had work
done.. but it's probably a good precaution.
