How can anti-depressants do anything to a person not taking them? Rachel Remen, a top psychiatrist, suffers from Crohn's disease. Doug.
From: news.chi.sbcglobal.net on 16 Jul 2008 19:23 I am very sorry for anyone suffering from crohns disease. It is a weird and shrouded in mystery as far a symptoms are concerned. Mainly it is a digestive illness but can strike anywhere in the body. I hope the psychiatrist will listen to you if you know her and tell her my comments. A male nurse at the nursing home asked me about his discomfort and I told him what I will be telling you. The following week he was diagnosed with crohns, and instead of saying something to the administrator of the home, he just quit. I believe he is allright now and last I heard he was suing the home. But it can not be a successful suit, as the FDA has approved anti-depressants and does not know the harm they do by their side effect. The person on the anti-depressant (or any stimulant) usually does well on the anti-depressant never knowing his med could be making someone he knows (friend or relative) sick with crohns by a mind/body connection. When one person is on a stimulant, there is the uncanny ability of the stimulant and mind to transfer harm to another person not necessarily on any anti-depressant. It is hard to believe that what one person ingests can affect another. But that is the strange weirdness of all stimulants. (Xanax, Buspar, marijuana, cocaine, all anti-depressants etc) And to make it more unbelievable, the harm continues to harm the crohnie whether he/she is in the same room as the stimulant taker or miles and miles apart. Only the stimulant and mind are at work. No one can explain why it works this way, or it would be an accepted fact. One must relate to it and try to find the unknowing offending person. Asking them to cease the stimulant rarely is accepted (unless mother and child usually) so the crohnie must sever all contact with the person, and when all thoughts are gone (which takes time because it is an involuntary act) the person will be free of crohns. In the meantime if the physician can get and take Valium, which will harm no one, it will reduce the stress and help somewhat. I have said this many times over, seen it many times over and experienced it many times over. Tell the psychiatrist to do herself a favor and try it no matter it sounds unscientific. That is the only cause of crohns, so it must work if properly handled. It will continue to affect more and more persons as time goes on, as anti-depressants are thought to be the solution to everything. In fact they create more illness by their side effect. They are also the pharmaceuticals biggest selling med, far as I know. On aol there is a blog? under my screen name Kureforcrohns then hit search. Ican make no headway with this as when a person is well, that is as far as they go, no reason to advertise it. In fact, secrecy seems to be the norm as I am considered "insane" and they are afraid they will have the same tag. Try to read the blog as it tells of Fidel Castro whom I believed had crohns. Please follow up if possible, it is the psychiatrist at the nursing home who is giving me all the grief. What state does Rachel practice in? I wish her well. and be sure she probes all her acquaintances. The evidence is in the relating to the theory. I can give names, but do not feel free to do so. Sincerely Gail Michael

Crohn's disease is an inflammation of any part of the gastro-intestinal tract. If other parts of your body are affected, the diagnosis is wrong. It seems to be incurable at the moment. If so, you have to accept that fact, not pretend that space-age ideas are causing it. I have depression. There is strong evidence that I have a genetic predisposition to it. I haven't gone into make-believe. Rather, I try to look upon it like a missing arm or leg. There are some things that I can't do, but they aren't many. It is a disability, and disabled people are living victoriously every day. Rachel Remen is only one. She is a top U.S. hospital psychiatrist, not a specialist in ordinary practice. Read about her at http://www.rachelremen.com/ She is the embodiment of my ideal of not letting a disability stop her. The paralympic sportspeople are other examples. Your problem is certainly in the mind, but it isn't telepathy. Either your perception is wrong, or you need treatment for mental illness. Take care, Doug.

Dear Doug Laidlaw, I have a great admiration for you and your writings. I take no offense at anything you say, as it is the typical response to my unusual theory. Yes, it sounds like outer space rantings, but I have observed and experienced this too thoroughly to doubt that it is not 100% correct. Most of the time, I just let things go, and accept whatever the person believes. I do accept what you believe also, but in this instance, I would feel that what you believe should not be the basis to refuse Rachel the opportunity to decide for herself if this has any merit. It could be as simple as her husband, son, patient, or whoever she relates to, be the person unknowingly affecting her. Of course I am happy she is living well, in spite of the disease, but she deserves to have the opportunity to be free of crohns also. I cannot force you to do anything you would be adverse to, but I have loads of papers I would gladly send to Rachel if I knew where to send them. I know you have written you have possibly a genetic depression. I cannot comment on that, but I cannot just say, let this theory go, because crohns disease attacks the body and does untold damage at times. And if you have read other posts, you will know that it attacks ANYWHERE in the body as opthomologists put up a question and answer column for eye problems with crohns, etc. etc. I would dearly love Rachel to be well. I even contacted a lawyer at one time when I read in the newspaper he was defending a caretaker of a 6 mo old child of T physician parents and she was accused of killing the child. The newspaper screamed the mother was not ashamed to say she was on anti-depressants. The lawyer said by their confidentiality he knew the caretaker was innocent. and certainly the heartbroken parents did not kill the child. So who did or what did? He said he was going to appeal the 50 year sentence, which he did and she is now free. I doubt he used my theory, but he did not reject it outright. Anyway, I will not convince you, so I will drop the subject if you so desire. Rachel is not the first physician to have the illness, and it could be a bonus for all other physicians if she were to be well. Best Wishes to all Gail Michael There is a usenet group called Alt.Support.Crohns-Colitis you may wish to read and perhaps get some tips for treatments. I am suggesting this group in spite of the fact that I am referred to very harshly there, which would make your comments about me seem admirable. |
