I like this estimate: running a mile ~ 100 calories. 600 cal/hr
would be 6 miles at 10 min/mile, or 6 mph, which is a pretty good
beginner steady pace once you can run that far. Your estimate of 1200
cal/hr would be twice that distance - pretty damn hard.
