You probably have some form of arthritis. Prior to CPAP, you were
tossing and turning in your sleep and this kept the inflamation at bay.

Do you find that the pain subsides after you have been up an moving around?

I had the same experience!

Talk to your GP about this. In the meantime, if you can take aspirin,
try the enteric(coasted) ASA (I buy the generic at about half price) in
the dosage for arthritis.

Thanks 4 Ur reply...indeed pain goes away after I move around. But it
bugs me for the first 2 or 3 hours of the day. I wake up as if I was
beaten by a bunch of people.Aspirin I take b4 or after I wake up ? many
thanks

If you take the high doseage enteric, it won't kick in for 60 - 90
minutes after taking and will last for 8 - 12 hours.
Take at 11 pm, go to bed, get up at 7 and it should carry you through
until you are up and running.
Works for me.

I would be careful with Aspirin, both regular and enteric - serious
bleeding can result (I knew someone who wound up with very
serious stomach bleeding from normal short-term dosage of regular
Aspirin, and intestinal bleeding can result from the enteric type).
Perhaps an alternative, like Tylenol, would be better? Other possible
causes: poor/worn mattress, or less likely, night seizures - or as one
poster suggested, not moving as much at night due to better sleep
with CPAP use.
Good luck!
