From: GOD on 11 Oct 2005 23:45 You know I was sorry to hear this. The show will not be renewed. If the reason is that low-carb dieting is not making the ratings good I can handle that. If the reason is that Blaine Jelus lost his commitment and stopped losing that would be hard to take and I don't think that's what happened. I know it sounds corny but I really followed this show and like Blaine and his family. You kind of got to know his kids and wife and even his father was on once. The difference here is that Blaine was very overweight and it was sort of like him and his audience were doing this together. I feel sure his commitment to low carb dieting is still strong and I hope someday we can find out how he's doing.
From: Roger Zoul on 12 Oct 2005 00:34 I watched his show a few times.....he's a likeable guy. Of course, I could not help but worry about his ability to make progress while dealing with all that good, tasty food. Despite what some claim, it's still possible to eat too much on LC and not lose weight. I don't think I'd be able to be on a show like that and lose a pound. You can tell he really enjoys cooking and eating (not that I can blame him). For weight loss, being a minimalist has some advantages. Simple, boring meals work great. An occasional spurge might be okay, but for a TV show everything has to be good and tasty....too much pressure. :: "Roger Zoul" <rogerzoul2(a)hotmail.com> wrote in message :: news:11kp4j9d20op88e(a)news.supernews.com... ::: I watched his show a few times.....he's a likeable guy. "I don't think I'd be able to be on a show like that and lose a pound. " Not even when your continued hefty salary depends on it? I'm sure Blaine was getting many times more in salary on FitTV than he ever got working in a kitchen. I doubt the demise of the show has anything to do with Blaine. The ratings had to collapse along with the decline in interest in low carb. I expect George Stella will be next to go. |
