From: Dustin on 11 Apr 2006 00:28 I'm a programmer and being such I am stereotypically overweight and eat far more pizza than the average human. Being a programmer I tend to migrate towards other programmers, hence other overweight people. The guys (and a few gals) at work decided we were going to have a "Biggest Loser" contest, similar to the TV show here in the US. We all put in 10 bucks. We started today, April 10 and will be going to August 10. The individual with the greatest percentage lost wins the money. Thought it was something fun worth sharing. Wondered if anyone else has done this at work or with family/friends. I'm pretty excited. It's the first thing that has motivated me in a very long time and it's also nice to have the support of the co-workers. Although we are allowing sabotage if anyone wants to bring in a trigger food and tempt the others. I know, it's mean, but we're a playful group and it makes it a game and makes us all the more competitive. :-) Dustin

When I was working in school, my greatest temptation was home made cake! Every time someone had a birthday, or something to celebrate, we brought in cake... Some of them were seriously good, and the home made ones always vanished quicker than anything else! He walks 2 miles at lunch (when he can take lunch) and one guy he works with lost 70 lbs on WW and has maintained that for years. If my husband doeesn't bring lunch he has to get lunch from "the truck" and he still manages to make good choices. Good luck - you'll do best if you take control of the situation and don't blame it on your profession. (I was once there and did that too - I now know i was just making really lousy food choices) Keep us posted
