Does not have to be made in 2005.

you can'nt go wrong in renting lord of the rings, any one or all three
of them.

the never ending story ( the first one only)

the dark crystal

if you like sci-fi, godzilla 2000
theres another godzilla movie, it ruins the image of godzilla. it was
made in hollywood so of course they would'nt really know much about
godzilla.

godzilla 2000 was produced by japanese and its done like its suppose to
be where godzilla saves the day ;)

the day after tomorrow

pirates of the caribean (walt disney production) the movie even has some
of disney's old school comedy ;)

I didn't much like LotR. Far too much running about and soppy dreariness
from moist eyed elves for my taste. Although it did contain glimpses of my
favourite actor, there are limits, I'd rather watch the Alien Quadrology or
The Eyes of Laura Mars.

I say I didn't like LotR, but this is relative, I think anyone who goes to
so much effort to put something like that together [any film actually]
deserves truckloads of thanks and praise. So temper all my statements with
this sweeping overview of all endeavours made. Plaudits to all!

The fantasy film I liked was "DragonSlayer". That was okay. And that one
with Tom Cruise and Tim Curry was good too, what was that called?

"The Time Bandits" beats all of them into a cocked hat though... perhappen a
tricorn cocked hat. Ogres, Giants, Dwarves, Napoleon, time travel, the Devil
and his minions. I liked that original Baron Munchausen film too - that
doesn't screen often enough on TV.

On the theme of time travel: "12 Monkeys" is fun. And, speaking of Bruce
Willis, I did like "the 5th Element". Heathen's to Betsy there are so many
good filums out there that any or all of them are worth watching more than
once.

Add to that "Kill Bill" twice, "About a Boy", "Fargo", "Citizen X",
"Monsters Inc", "Mansfield Park", "Supersize Me" and a musical ["Singin' in
the Rain" tops the list] to sing along to, and you're all set for Christmas.
You can tell from my lists that I haven't seen any recent films. I don't get
out much.

Chronicles of Riddick is a nice surprise.
Pure action with exotic landscapes/backgrounds.

Donnie Darko is good for a small budget movie -
is he nuts or isn't he...? with time travel thrown in.
Yeah there's a weird rabbit in it.
