From: Eleonore Beaudoin on 13 Jun 2008 20:45 Today I managed to rake the yard (tons of pine needle! So heavy, I had to use five bags due to weight, and I think one of them might not make it to the bin...Still have to take them to the bin...Sigh). I also managed to water the dust, since you woudl not call that soil at ll. Just dust flying in the air, thanks to the ^%$ pine needles:( As I raked, I rememebred I did rake last fall...Go figure how come there was so much, but anyway. I finsihed potting all plants yesterday evening, and today had to move them to onte side and the next as I raked, then swept, then washed and watered patio slabs and yard and washed fences and outside of windows, etc, to chase insects away. It was not a true blue sky, but a pleasant day just the same. I coudl work in the yard in a two piece and not be bohered by anythging, everyoen being at work. Normally each time there is a way to get some sun, the darn neighbors take their annuals exactly at the sme time as me.Tehrefore my taking them a week earlier this year. The ;ast three days did wonder for the spirit, with the temperature not being a killer with humidity. I took many breaks this afternoon, because it was 27 C plus a BIT of humidity at a point. It then went away and now is building up again. Tomorow will be eiher 30, 31 or 36C with humidex, deending on what channel one watches. Heh. It then si supposed to rain all the time until at last next Friday. I am starting to think that what they do is ""foretell" the weather of...last eyar at the same date. Anyway. I also coud sow grass on oe side, leaving the other oen as is for now./ Might decide to remove the bitsy bit of grass instead since nothig wants to grow on that side. Under the tree s now beaten soil, I coudl even sweep it after raking the worst away. Then I grabbed Squeaks and washed her tummy and gently rinsed it and then put more fungicide on her....I think I will take her to the vet enxt week. Incidentally they called and left a message about Belami being due for his yearly vist in a week or two...It will be a year since I found him!!:):) Gave Belmi his pablum, ran for his kind again but still could not find it and risked a banana and nixed cereal pabum, rememebring how Titan like d banana flavored stuff. So far he seems okay with it, but takes a day or three to be sure no unbalance follows. The hosueb is a total pig pen. I have not sweot nor washed floors, knowing I woudl carry in mud from the yard...By now the living room looks like the yard did before I cleaned it! Mpft:(. Poured some drano gel in the basement drain. Sill have to go wash that away with water, and hoep it helped/prevented a bigger clog. I still want to wash the aquarium filter this evening, because tomorrow will be too stuicky hot again to breath, and that makes any troubled water turn bad instantly in this house. Saturday might then be my sleep day. I do feel sleepy and tired by now. I did the last days but took cafeine pills to carry on. I had decided to drink only decaf, with the result I woudl stare at walls by 11 A.M., flatlined. I tanned a BIT today, nothing noticeable, but it made the white spots that a forst sun exposure in years only could leave not be as clear cut white on red:) The red turned...whte, Specially thelwoer legs. Today beign huid, my egs would n with frekles only, so I worked wearing socks in runnign shoes. Did my pedicure, but in the middle of playing with mucd, in one fo my breaks. Simply my feet were too dirty:), and I needed a break oput of the sun, so:) Gotta keep a day to go o Montreal thi coming week, to see ""kiddo"" in a play (Fringe festival). Posted a protest note about a journalist on tv who was offered a vague program on the news channel, entertainment type of interviews rather than more serious stuff, while faces I never seemed to notice before got bigger offers than her.. She made her program interesting enough that I had switched to the national station (CBC, Frenc though) after ignoring it completely for many years finding it insipid. Some people started a page demanding she be given something at the level of her abilities, and I joined the ""protest" online. A woman was offered the anchor person position, which she well deswerved. But it makes me wodner if she is not insecure towards the other, and woudl not have asked that she not be offered soemhing on the main station. Either that or someone hates her face, cause frankly, they gave better jobs to less interesting reporters. Perhaps she is not a conservative: I mena, this government we have is so darn sided, (dictorship in many ways), itust could be too. But whatever the so called reason may be, it can not be lack of talent nor incompetence. Nor image. She ahs one perfect image too. Checked a friend,s photos onine, too. Not all, a few. My system is so slow on full web access (dial-up...). Found a new headcap kiddo had given me a few years ago and that I had msplaced and never worn. Helpd keep the hair out of y face and hold it nicely in the yard. Makes it less hot on the bak and neck, if hotter on the head though... Spent more tiem with the birds, realizing they did not realize themself that I was here, if in the yard, just nearby, and that I coudl see them and hear them. Gotta wash Beami,s blankets. I invent nrew rgs to cover the bottom of hs cage each night, all being in the laundry... Getting ht upstairs, if we still have a bit of a breeze each ten minutes for one second or two... Gotta ut dishes in dishwaser to free sink to clean aquarium filter, go wash out the drano in basement floor drain and sink, change Belami,s cage, ut them to bed:), caged ones too, re-start a laundry load once the drains are ""fine"" for it (left it in there fter a bleach wash two days ago!!:)), and am I forgetting anythign or can I then just realx watching tv and go to bed?:) Odd. I ahd the impression I asted my day, but writing it here makes me realize I did a lot! nd take my word, raking that yard was not the smallest of it all!! Oh, I also used the weed eater to cut the long lot tarnd of gras down so that I do not have to be bothered with it as the seeds grow. Since it is supposed to rain allw eek, I figured it woudl be the perfect time to swo grass. But would it not rain, hey, no loss. My yard is so small, that the bag of seeds I have coudl last ten eyars:) WEhen the flowers and plants seem to be taking well in the pots, gotta spray them with (bio) insecticide, as already some spider like webs are forming on one or two. Removed the webs today, but in this yard, I never could keep anythign, insects devouring the leafs in a day ro two, leaving only the stem to rot and die:(. Migth do acrylic painting tomorrow. As in art, not as in ceiling, Not in that heat and humidx and rain... It is supposed to get coller nextw eek if rain all the time apparently. I will paint the ceiling anyway, nah,. if he hosue temperature is safe for me. But not tomorrow, that is for sure:). Well, that was my day. Wearing a summer top (sleveless type of camisole but garden work type: second hand, striped yellow and white and turquoise and green, but does not look as ugly for colorsd as sounds:). Oh, I also axed down what I thought was a tree or four:), which turned out to not be trees but shoots from the actual grown tree. I felt less bad then when I s realized. That elaves only the one tree I saw growing on one side, and ...one...two...4, 6 I think on the other, where in time I will see which are really tress and whch I want to keep or not. Still mall shoots, two summers old for the oldest ( a year). Glad I did not waste the day! If I wasted half of it, the morning, not awake enough to think stright, and acting liek if the weather channel said it woudl rain in the next hour, it sure would. It never did, nah. They are so friggen full of it! Thank God by noon I was awake enough to remember so and forget that it could rain. I hope they will be as wrong omorrow, though if sticky humid as they say it will be, rain woudl be good to clear it all out!:) Be well, all! Catch ya tomorrow! C
