I heard this twice on the radio last night. There's an article either
in the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal, I don't recall which
one, about how drug companies are hiring pretty people with lots of
'enthusiasm' to inform doctors about the latest FDA-approved drugs.

The drug companies don't seem to care what type of degree the
cheerleaders have.

I makes sense, doesn't it? If you have a product to sell, you want to
sell as much of it as you can. Pretty enthusiastic people are more fun
to be around. Their knowledge can become secondary.

Meanwhile 75% of all drug studies are now funded by the drug companies.
And in comparative studies, drug-company-funded studies five times more
likely to show their own product to be better than the competitor's
product.

The next time you take your pills, you might want to consider all that.

P.S. A young lady with type one diabetes came to see me because she
was experiencing severe neuropathy in her feet. At the emergency room a
few days earlier, she was injected with pain killers in her feet. She
hated being given pain killers. We got her some sublingual B-12
instead, with a dose of 5,000 mCg. She came back three days later to
tell me the results.

She put the tiny pills under her tongue. She said that by the time she
got to her car her pain had left. After about 12 hours, a slight amount
of burning would return, so she'd take another dose. She said that she
had experienced no real pain ever since.

Will this work for you? The only way to find out is to try it.

Be well,

Kelley

I've never heard of anyone getting injections of pain killers directly
into their feet for neuropathy. sounds fictitious as well.

Generally pain killers don't work and the doctors know this.

B12 is not known for relieving the pain from neuropathy. It never
even scratched it for me.

My apologies for the overly long previous reply. Here's a reply with
just the link to the New York Times article.

A bullshit story?? Here is a link to the NYT article:

You didn't believe it when I said there was a story in the New York
Times about two dozen Kentucky cheerleaders either.

> Generally pain killers don't work and the doctors know this.

The operative word in this case is "generally." Sometimes doctors will
try anything when there are no viable choices available. And sometimes
ER doctors don't practice the best medicine. The point isn't the
efficacy of the pain injection drug - the point is that she was in
severe pain. I don't know how well the injections worked for the young
woman, either.

There are two possibilities. One possibility is that you didn't use a
HIGH ENOUGH dose UNDER THE TONGUE (B-12 is VERY poorly absorbed if
swallowed.) The other possibility is that B-12 doesn't work FOR YOU.

As I noted, the ONLY way to know if vitamin B-12 will work or not is
for each person to try it on an individual basis. I'm not sure why it
scares you that something might work for some people and not for
others. Most FDA-drugs only work for a fraction of the people who use
them. That fact doesn't stop doctors from prescribing them over and
over again.

That's hilarious - you think that you can copywrite and/or register as
a trademark the name "Mack." Too stupid for words.

mea culpa, there is an article on it. bad cheer leader, how dare you
do something other than shake pom poms. bad cheerleader.

Ask your doctor directly about these issues if they bother you. Make
your doctor aware that it has a bearing on whether you will keep him
as your doctor.
