From: 1st International Cancer Fatigue Symposium on 6 Aug 2008 14:19 The objectives of the symposium are to construct a shared scientific knowledge base of factors that contribute to the development of cancer-related fatigue based on what we already know (EFF), identify the gaps in current knowledge and reach consensus on research directions for an international program of research on fatigue and develop an international research collaboration that links researchers working along similar lines of inquiry to address knowledge gaps. From: I.P. Freely on 6 Aug 2008 20:27 OTOH, here is the message I sent them. "What I do NOT see in your programme is a discussion of treatment-induced fatigue. My oncology board recommended adjuvant ADT just in case my 2004 RRP may not have cured my prostate cancer (Gleason 4+4=8, SVI, N0M0). I rejected it because of its virtually certain impact on my very athletic lifestyle at 65 vs its very modest median longevity benefit. When medicine can significantly delay clinical recurrence without significantly reducing my QOL, get back to me. This tradeoff needs serious research." I.P.
